We made some wax resist dyed easter eggs for our Easter table.  They work smashingly if you apply the wax crayon whilst the egg is still hot, but Boo was not keen on handling the heat, so most of our were drawn on when the eggs had cooled a little.  Then we simply dyed them with food colouring.

Boo then created her own little art workshop.  Having noticed the way the excess dye was spreading on the kitchen paper, she applied a whole lot more.  Curious as ever.

Happy Easter!

Let the Play begin!

A certain wee little man has just begun to hold toys and try to mouth them... though at this stage, his fists are far more reliable for him.  We await the exciting developments ahead in the next few months.

Meanwhile, Bear has been on his travels

Fuzzy wuzzy pot

I knitted this pot following the pattern in Catherine Tough's 'Easy Knits for Little Kids' - you knit and then felt in the washing machine (if you've never tried this, its such fun - shrinking without the 'oh my gawd, what have I done?! factor).  I used Rowan Scottish Tweedy chunky in oatmeal.

But what should go in such a fuzzy wuzzy pot?  Why, bears of course, so Boo determined.  What else could it possibly be for?!

Spring Table

We might have had April showers back in the UK, but here in North Van its chucking it down all day and all night right now.  Nevertheless, spring is springing and the nature table has taken shape, buoyed up by a couple of new additions bought at the Waldorf School Spring Market yesterday (tulip and daffodil flower children).

There are some needlefelted eggs which I made for Boo's easter basket last year...

and some bears (of course),which seems only fitting when there is a Bear Sighting Sign at the end of our road!
